Market-Rate Impact Capital (MIC)

Market-Rate Impact Capital (MIC) investments seek to achieve financial returns equal to those of comparable non-impact investments while also generating positive and measurable social and/or environmental outcomes or impact. When graphed on the Impact Investment Opportunity Field, MICs are at or above the Market-rate threshold. MIC investments are primarily made by non-governmental entities (both for-profits and non-profits), though the public sector can also make MIC investments.
